Next In Line Leadership
When you need an employee to step into a management or supervisory role, how prepared are they? When we promote individuals to management without the proper training we increase the risk of higher turnover, lower morale and a disruption in productivity. Yet when these same managers receive training in making the transition from employee to leader it will actually boost workplace morale, and avoid costly and unnecessary resignations.
Next In Line is a program designed to prepare your future leaders for the role of management. The majority of first-time managers are given no leadership training before being promoted to the role of managing others. Next In Line prepares your up-and-coming talent for the role of leadership, and outlines practical steps they can take immediately to begin gaining trust and influence within your organization. In fact Next In Line creates leaders even before you give them the title.
In this program participants will learn:
- How to increase your influence now by mastering the 3 C’s of Trust
- The 4 things you must do first when you are first promoted to lead a team
- How to identify your natural leadership style, its strengths and weakness
- How to eliminate mental blocks such as insecurity and doubt and how these hinder a leader’s effectiveness
- The quintessential skill of leadership – Awareness
- A simple technique to keep from being buried in tasks and lose focus on your people
- Reward and Recognition techniques and how to use them
- A simple 4-step model for giving feedback to avoid office quarrels
- How to identify the four basic personality styles
- How to motivate the different personality styles
- The 5 most desired qualities in a leader

This looks great. I know it is an area that we have neglected. Funny that you asked managers if they had ever received training before being promoted. After I thought about it I realized it was the same for me. I would have loved something like this. 20 years to late though
Would this be good for someone who was just put into leadership within the last few months?
Hi Josie,
Yes, this would still be very appropriate. I would say even up to one year.
James
Can you show me the agenda for the program being rolled out in Calgary the end of OCT?
Thanks
I am a 3rd year commerce student at the UBC Sauder School of Business. I’m currently the President of the top leadership development club on campus called the Emerging Leaders of UBC. Would you suggest that this seminar is valuable and relevant for our Emerging Leaders group to attend? We consist of over 150 student members, anywhere from 1st year up to 5th year. Please advise. Thank you.
The biggest challenge I find is time and money. We have limited training budget and everyone is so overloaded that we dont carve out the time that I know we should to train.
very interested in this method. would like to speak to someone regarding the 28th in calgary and potential inhouse program.
